Aero India 2023 Starts in Bangalore

What is Aero India?

Have you ever been to a book fair or an art exhibition where many books and artworks are shown? Similarly, Aero India is India's largest aerospace and defence exhibition, where companies from around the world, and the Indian Air Force, attend and put on displays for spectators.

Aero India is an important event for aviation companies to show new products and attract the attention of Indian officials. Aero India was first held in 1996, and it has been held every alternate year in Bengaluru at the Yelahanka Air Force base since then. This year the Aero India 2023 is being held from 13th to 17th February 2023.

What is special about this year’s Aero India?

Aero India is presented by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as proof of India's growing defence and aerospace industry. It also highlights India as a self-reliant nation. The theme for the event is "The Runway to a Billion Opportunities."

With 731 exhibitors, daily air shows, and many meetings, the exhibition is likely to be the largest ever. Aero India 2023 will also include a pavilion showing the opportunities in Karnataka.

What is being displayed in this year’s event?

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is organising Aero India this year with major exhibitors including Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce, etc. This event will also encourage the export of indigenous aircraft.

Two F-35s were also shown by the United States Air Force (USAF). It is the USAF's latest fighter aircraft capable of stealth, supersonic flight, etc. Many other aircraft will be on display over the next few days.
