Two states, one capital!
In 2014, Andhra Pradesh was divided to create Telangana. At that time, Hyderabad was declared the capital of both states for ten years.
Now that ten years have passed, Hyderabad will only serve as the capital of Telangana.
No capital city for Andhra Pradesh?

The state currently lacks a permanent capital. The former Chief Minister (CM), Chandrababu Naidu, planned to establish Amaravati as the new capital.
But, elections were held, and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy became the new CM. He planned to set up three capitals in the state.
What? Three capitals?

CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy planned to establish three capitals: the executive capital at Visakhapatnam, the legislative capital at Amaravati, and the judicial capital at Kurnool.
Experts say CM Reddy wants to create three capitals to encourage balanced growth across the state. This can also improve government efficiency by dividing administrative functions among three cities.
But, there were protests against this plan. Some said building three capitals would cost lots of money, which could be used for better purposes. Those who had donated land for the development of Amaravati had also protested.
The matter reached the Andhra High Court, and they ordered the state government to develop Amaravati as the single state capital.
Still, the final decision will be taken later after the state election results are declared.
