Video by Google.</figcaption> </figure></div><p>Android is the world’s largest mobile operating system (OS), with over 3 billion Android devices in the world. We have all seen the Android logo and the green-coloured Android robot. However, Google recently released a new look for the brand name and the bugdroid (the name of the Android robot).</p><p>In 2019, the logo was last updated. Earlier, Android was written with a lowercase “a.” Now, it has been modified to include a capital "A." Google says the letter stands out more visually than the other letters. The new design of the name is similar to how Google's logo is written.</p><p>The names of the Android releases have also been changed from fancy names like Android Lollipop to simple ones like Android 14. This has been done to make the names easier to follow. Google also released an entirely new three-dimensional (3D) look for the bugdroid.</p><h5>Why did Google change the Android design?</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/newsahoot.appspot.com/o/android-has-a-new-look%2FGoogle_office_in_Toronto.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=f06e27cc-7a6e-4afa-9e90-79048795b5de"><figcaption>Outside of a Google office. That's why Google has changed the design to represent the Android community better.</p><p>The design of the bugdroid has been changed so that it portrays itself to be as dynamic as the Android brand. From this year itself, the rebranded Android design logo and the 3D bugdroid will appear on Android smartphones and in other places.</p><h5>Why do companies rebrand?</h5><p>Let’s say you have a favourite toy. After a period, it starts looking old and less fascinating. The same happens to companies also. So, they wish to look new and fresh to attract customers.</p><p>Companies can also change. They might have started the business by doing something like selling clothes. However, they later decided they wanted to sell food items. So, they change their appearance to show everyone what they're up to. Sometimes, companies use their logo, design, etc., to send various messages. Companies also change their logos to connect better with their customers.</p><p>These are some reasons why companies rebrand.
