<h5>The Obamas take the stage!</h5><p>Recently, former president of the USA Barack Obama and his wife Michelle endorsed Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, USA.</p><p>They have urged party workers and other supporters across the nation to vote for Harris and help defeat <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/donald-trump-survives-assassination-attempt">Donald Trump and his Republican Party</a>.</p><p>The Obamas gave back-to-back speeches at the convention, praising Harris while criticising Trump. The event was held in Chicago from 19th to 22nd August 2024.</p><p>Many members attended it, and important figures such as the Obamas delivered speeches urging voters to help the party win.</p><h5>About the Obamas.</h5><p>Barack Obama was the first African American president of the USA. He became the country’s 44th president in 2008 and was reelected in 2012.</p><p>Obama was born in 1961 and graduated from Columbia University in New York in 1983. He later attended Harvard Law School and started practising law after completing his education.</p><p>He also taught law at the University of Chicago and became an active member of the Democratic Party. He soon became a major figure in the party and later became the country’s president.</p><p>Michelle Obama, born in 1964, was the first African American first lady of the USA, which she became during her husband’s presidency.</p><p>She is well-educated and attended Harvard Law School, where she earned a law degree. While working at a law firm, she met Barack Obama, and they got married in 1992.</p><p>She has held various important positions, worked to improve people's lives, and been a popular first lady.</p>
