<h5>Which board exam will be held twice a year?</h5><p>Reports say the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to hold two board exams a year for Class 10 and Class 12 students. This new format will begin in the 2024-25 academic session.</p><p>In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CBSE board exams were split into two. Reports also say the new format will not be compulsory.</p><h5>What’s the reason behind taking two board exams?</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/newsahoot.appspot.com/o/board-exams-to-be-held-twice-a-year%2FExam.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=3f5c6e2b-d010-4a7e-bcac-f83bbded9cb4"><figcaption>Students giving an exam. Also, if a student is adequately prepared and satisfied with their first exam score, they might choose not to take the second exam.</p><h5>Has any date been scheduled for the board exam in the new format?</h5><p>An Education Ministry official said the first board exam in the new format might be scheduled for November to December 2024. The second might be held in February-March 2025. The best scores from both exams will be used to set the final result and merit list.</p><p>Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan first mentioned the idea of holding two board exams in an interview in 2023.
