<h5>Huh? Video by Boston Dynamics.</figcaption></figure></div><p>BD retired HD Atlas, the hydraulic version of their popular humanoid robot known for outdoor feats like running and backflips, to make way for newer models.</p><p>Hydraulic robots are those that use liquids like oil to function and can do heavy tasks.</p><p>HD Atlas will be placed in BD’s museum with other retired robots.</p><h5>Importance of Atlas.</h5><p>The first version of HD Atlas was launched in 2013 for a US military contest. It helped in search-and-rescue missions.</p><p>The later versions weren’t for government use and helped in studying how robots move and what they can do.</p><p>HD Atlas has also helped the company advance robotic technology, leading to the creation of better robots. It is stronger and has better movement ability than the earlier Atlas robots.</p><p>BD plans to develop a robot for doing dangerous tasks like handling toxic chemicals and working in mines.</p>

The retired robot has helped the company learn a lot in the field of robotics.
