Chinese Start-up Promoting Robot Chefs
Robot chefs?!

Robots are amazing! They help us in factories and at home. But can robots cook yummy food?

A company in China called Botinkit thinks robots can be good chefs! Shirley Chen Rui, who started the company, had a restaurant for eight years. She found it hard to find good chefs and make sure the food was always tasty. She believes robots can help.

Botinkit made a special robot chef called Omni. Omni can:

Stir-fry food.

Make stew.

Mix and season dishes.

Clean up after cooking!

You don’t even need to be a real chef to use it. Just choose a recipe on a screen, and Omni does the rest. It even uses artificial intelligence (AI) to make sure the food tastes right.

What’s Good and Bad About Robot Chefs?

Good things:

Robots can cook fast, so customers don’t wait long.

The food tastes the same every time.

Restaurants save money because they need fewer workers.

Bad things:

Robots cost a lot of money to buy and fix.

They can’t think of new recipes like human chefs.

They might take jobs from people.

Botinkit says robots won’t replace humans. They want robots and people to work together to make cooking better. Would you eat food made by Omni? Maybe your next meal will be cooked by a robot!
