New fee in New York City!
New York City has a new rule! If drivers want to go into the busy Manhattan centre, they must pay a fee. The fee starts at $9 (around Rs 770) during busy times.
Why this rule? This rule is to stop traffic jams, clean the air, and make buses, subways, and roads better.

What is congestion pricing?
It’s a system where drivers pay to drive in busy areas. This helps to reduce traffic, make more people use buses and trains, and collect money to improve public transport.
How will people be charged?
Fees are different based on the time of day and the vehicle. Trucks, buses, and motorcycles will have different fees.
Some drivers, like those on low incomes, emergency vehicles, and disabled drivers, will get discounts or won't have to pay at all.
Donald Trump voices against it.
President-elect Donald Trump does not like this new rule and plans to end it when he takes office. He thinks it will hurt New York's business. But other cities like London and Stockholm have similar fees, and many people think they work well.
