COVID cases rising!

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill. Lockdowns were started to protect people. Things returned to normal as vaccines were given and the lockdowns were lifted.

However, Singapore faces a new COVID-19 wave, with rising cases being reported and more people being admitted to hospitals.

Singapore's health ministry believes a new COVID wave is starting. It has advised citizens to wear masks and get another vaccine dose. Hospitals have also been asked to get ready.

What’s the situation in India?

Reports say there are a few cases of a new COVID variant, FLiRT, infecting Indians. Currently, India has 512 active cases from both new and previous variants.

A new variant!

There are two new variants named KP.1.1 and KP.2. Scientists have named them FLiRT. There are increasing cases in several countries. FLiRT can evade vaccine immunity.

Its symptoms are similar to the previous variants, including cough, fever, fatigue, digestive issues, etc.

Experts are keeping an eye on the new variant. It can spread and raise infections, but there's no need to worry yet. Still, certain precautions must be followed.
