<h5>What is the Metaverse?</h5>  <p>Imagine a virtual world in which people work, live, shop, and talk with one another. This is known as the metaverse.</p>
<p>People create avatars to represent themselves in the metaverse. Also, in the metaverse, digital currency is used to buy various types of items. A person can roam around the metaverse using a virtual reality headset and controllers.</p>
<p>Many companies, like Google, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, etc., are working on developing the metaverse.</p> <h5>What exactly is the difference between the metaverse and the internet?</h5>  <p>The internet is a huge network that has millions of computers and servers. Once online, Internet users may browse websites, purchase and sell items, etc. They can also talk to others.</p>

<p>The metaverse, on the other hand, has no aim of competing with or replacing the internet. Instead, it intends to expand on it.</p>
<p>People use the internet to search for information. A user can, however, live in the metaverse to some extent, although virtually. Governments have an online presence that they can expand to the metaverse. Barbados (a Caribbean country) will be building an office in the metaverse, especially in the most famous virtual world, “Decentraland.”

      </figure> <p>Decentraland, managed by the Decentraland Foundation, has been one of the most active virtual worlds in the metaverse since it was launched. It is free to use and can be used by anyone.
However, not many people are using it. Decentraland is not doing as well as expected. Despite billion-dollar valuations, it has made little progress. According to data aggregator DappRadar, Decentraland recently had 38 active users (that's low!).
</p> <h5>Why is there such a low number of Decentraland users?</h5>  <p>Decentraland is currently in its early stages and lacks features that would attract a large number of users. Also, not everyone on the globe has enough knowledge about the metaverse. So, many people do not use it at all.</p>
