The Shiba Inu dog, Kabosu, famous as the face of the Doge meme, has passed away. ????
The news was confirmed by its owner, Atsuko Sato. Kabosu was unwell for some time, suffering from various diseases.
The legacy of Kabosu - the good doggo!
Atsuko Sato adopted Kabosu in 2008. Kabosu gained internet fame from a photo on Sato’s blog where she appeared to smirk. The picture was referred to as “Doge”, a deliberate misspelling of the word dog.
The Doge meme stars Kabosu or other Shiba Inus, with text representing dialogues written in broken English.
Kabosu also inspired the creation of a cryptocurrency, Dogecoin.
