</h5>  <p>Video games are something that many of us like to play. It is entertaining and helps to escape boredom. But playing video games was not considered a profession until now (at least not in India). This could change quickly as the Indian government made new changes.</p>
<p>The Indian government has officially recognised esports as a part of multi-sport events. This is a major boost for Indian online gaming. Because of this, national-level esports tournaments can now be held, just like other sports.</p>
<p>While gaming refers to any video game played on any device, such as a computer, Xbox, or PlayStation, esports only refers to competitive video gaming. This has gained popularity in recent years.</p> <h5>Can you tell me about the growth of esports across the world?

      </figure> <p>Esports has grown in popularity in India and around the world in recent years. Esports was included in the Commonwealth Games in England in 2022. Esports will also make its debut at the Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China.</p>
<p>The first Olympic Esports Week will also be held in Singapore from 22nd June to 25th June 2023. Also, the Indian Dota 2 team won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Esports Championship this year (wow!).</p>
<p>Due to the pandemic, people turned to video games to pass the time at home. The number of gamers from small Indian cities has also grown. Many of these players are women who began playing during the lockdown and continued playing after things returned to normal.

</h5>  <p>The inclusion of esports in the Olympics and Asian Games, as well as the new government recognition, will boost esports in India. Gaming companies are also trying to look for ways to reach out to the Indian audience.

</h5>  <p>We learned that the government has recognised esports as a part of multi-sport events. In the near future, national-level esports tournaments can be organised in the country. That’s very good news for all video gamers. </p>
<p>This means that now, just like professional cricket, hockey, and other sports, you can also choose to play video games as a career. But keep in mind that your studies are still very important, even if you want to become a professional video gamer when you grow up.  </p>
