About Mpox.
Mpox is a viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus. If someone gets Mpox, they might have a fever, tiredness, rashes, or headaches. But don’t worry! Most people get better, though a few can feel sick.
The disease can spread through contact with infected wild animals, touching contaminated items, or close contact with infected people. Currently, many countries have reported Mpox cases.
India reports the first Mpox case.
India has reported its first Mpox case. The person who got sick is a young man who returned from a place where Mpox was around. He is feeling better now and is resting in isolation.
India's health ministry has said there’s no need to be scared because the disease is not spreading yet, and things are under control!
The ministry cautions states and UTs.
The health ministry has asked the states and union territories (UTs) to teach doctors and nurses about Mpox. They want them to know about the sickness and how to help people who get it.
They also want all hospitals and clinics to be ready in case more people get sick. This way, everyone can get the best care if Mpox spreads.
How to protect yourself.
To stay safe from Mpox, avoid anyone who is sick with it. Wash your hands with soap or use hand sanitiser frequently.
Don’t touch things like forks or clothes that someone with Mpox used. If you think you might have Mpox, go to the doctor right away and stay away from others until you’re better.
Always listen to doctors and stay healthy! Also, learn about Mpox, its symptoms, how it spreads, etc., to keep yourself and others safe.
