At just 29 years old, he became the Secretary of State in the education ministry. He has also been involved in campaigns against bullying.</p><h5>Why was Gabriel Attal appointed as prime minister?</h5><p>Gabriel Attal is an ally of Emmanuel Macron. Attal served as the government's spokesperson during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also one of the country's most popular politicians.</p><p>The appointment comes at a time when Macron has faced challenges in managing the parliament after losing his absolute majority in 2022. He hopes that with Attal’s appointment, things will get better, and he can help re-energise Macron’s government.</p>
