<h5>Where is India’s first underwater metro located?</h5><p>Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi recently inaugurated India's first underwater metro, the Howrah Maidan to Esplanade metro, in Kolkata, West Bengal. This metro section, located under the Hoogly River, is said to be India's first underwater metro tunnel.</p><p>This section also has the deepest metro station in the country, Howrah Metro Station. Also, the Kavi Subhash-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay part of the New Garia airport line was inaugurated at the event held at Esplanade Metro Station.</p><h5>When can the public travel on the underwater metro?</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/newsahoot.appspot.com/o/india-s-first-underwater-metro-inaugurated%2Froutemap_graph.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=7520b779-07fc-4ad0-abaa-3a2ff2268c7f"><figcaption>Route map of the East-West metro line. The part from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah is open. Kolkata Metro plans to start the whole East-West route between Salt Lake Sector V and Howrah Maidan in June or July.</p>

The metro was recently inaugurated by PM Modi in Kolkata.
