<h5>The rise of Gukesh D!</h5><p>Indian chess prodigy <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/gm-gukesh-becomes-india-s-top-ranked-chess-player">Gukesh Dommaraju</a>, also known as Gukesh D, became the youngest player to win the men's Candidates Tournament.</p><p>Now, the 17-year-old grandmaster will face world champion Ding Liren at the 2024 World Chess Championship later this year. Gukesh will break Garry Kasparov's record as the youngest world champion if he defeats Ding. Let’s hope he does that.</p><p>The Candidates Tournament is a crucial tournament whose winner faces the reigning Chess world champion. The two-time Olympian has become India’s first woman wrestler to qualify for a third Olympics.</p><p>She had earlier led the protest against former Wrestling Federation of India [WFI] president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was accused of harassing women wrestlers.</p><p>She, along with her fellow protesters, was ridiculed by many and also faced various threats. Did that stop her? No. Ultimately, the former president was removed, and she is now aiming to win an Olympic medal for India.</p><h5>We should support Indian sportspersons.</h5><p>Indians play various sports, like cricket, football, hockey, chess, wrestling, etc. Sadly, cricket steals the spotlight most of the time. A game that is loved by many will have many fans.</p><p>But we must also extend our support beyond just cricket and appreciate the efforts of the athletes participating in other sports.</p><p>Regardless of the sport, every athlete deserves acknowledgement and support for their sacrifices, dedication, and accomplishments.</p><p>After all, they are also representing our country and trying to win medals for the nation. So, let us support all of our athletes and celebrate their achievements together!</p>
