<h5>Who published the report?</h5><p>According to a survey conducted by a professor at the Management Development Institute in Gurugram, Mizoram is India's happiest state.</p><p>The state’s happiness report is based on six factors: family relationships, social issues and charity, work-related issues, religion, the effect of COVID-19 on happiness, and mental and physical health.</p><h5>Why has Mizoram been declared the happiest state in India?</h5><p>Mizoram is the second Indian state to achieve 100% literacy, after Kerala. The state provides several opportunities for kids to improve their skills and abilities. Also, Mizoram's youth try to get financial independence at an early age, allowing them to buy what they want rather than relying on their parents.</p><p>The state also has a low rate of gender-based discrimination. Reports say upbringing also plays an important role in the happiness index of Mizoram's youth. Kids in Mizoram consider their teachers as their friends. This survey reports that the people of Himachal Pradesh are the happiest in India, while those of Uttar Pradesh may be the saddest.</p><p>Along with Himachal Pradesh, the report also names Punjab, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and Tamil Nadu as India's happiest states and union territories. Other states near the bottom of the list include Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Lakshadweep, and Jammu and Kashmir.</p><p>The survey ranked states based on factors like life ladder, social support, freedom of choice, perception of corruption, and generosity.</p><h5>Why is being happy important?</h5><p>Happiness is important because it improves social skills, academic achievement, and general well-being. It also increases confidence and self-esteem by encouraging positive feelings about oneself, one's life, and one's future.
