<h5>KKR into the finals!</h5><p>The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Qualifier 1 (Q1) was recently held between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). KKR won the match by eight wickets, securing a place in the finals.</p><p>The KKR fans are celebrating the victory. The team has also done well this season, finishing the league stage as table-toppers.</p><p>SRH fans need not be saddened by the loss. Photo by IndianPremierLeague.</figcaption></figure><p>The beauty of the IPL is that the top two teams on the points table get two chances to reach the final.</p><p>The top four teams on the points table reach the playoffs, which are divided into Q1, eliminator, and Q2. The top two teams on the points table get to play in the Q1. The team that wins the match directly reaches the final.</p><p>But the losing team doesn’t get eliminated and gets another shot to reach the finals in Q2. That’s why the teams try to reach the top two positions.</p><p>The third and fourth-placed teams play the eliminator. Whoever loses gets eliminated from the tournament, while the winning team plays Q2 against the losing team of Q1. The winning team of this match reaches the final.</p><p>The top four teams this season are KKR, SRH, RR and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). But RR had other plans. They defeated RCB in the eliminator and will now face SRH in Q2. Meanwhile, RCB has been eliminated from the tournament after the loss.</p><p>The winner of Q2 will face KKR in the finals to be held on 26th May 2024.
