India is getting ready to explore Venus! The government has said yes to ISRO’s Venus Orbiter Mission, called Shukrayaan. This mission will fly to Venus in 2028 to explore the planet.
About mission Shukrayaan.
Shukrayaan will help study Venus. It will help with the following:
Learn about Venus’s thick clouds.
Map its surface to see what it looks like.
Check for various cool features.
Test new ideas, like how to deal with Venus’s heat.
This mission is special because it will explore parts of Venus no one has studied before! Shukrayaan will carry modern tools to gather data about Venus.
About Venus.
Venus is often called Earth’s "twin" because it’s the same size. But it’s very different!
It is the hottest planet in the solar system.
Venus has thick clouds of carbon dioxide and sulphuric acid. These trap heat, making it super hot!
A day on Venus is longer than its year. Venus spins so slowly that it takes 243 Earth days to complete one spin, but its year is only 225 Earth days!
The Sun rises in the west and sets in the east because Venus spins the opposite way to Earth. Isn’t that weird?
Venus is not easy to study. Its heat and thick clouds can damage spacecraft quickly. But ISRO is working hard to make sure Shukrayaan is ready for the challenge. Let’s cheer for ISRO as they take India to Venus!
