<h5>What is the MTV VMAs?</h5><p>The MTV VMAs (MTV Video Music Awards) is an annual award show to recognise outstanding achievements in the music entertainment and music video industries. The television network Music Television, or MTV, gives the award. The award show was first held in 1984.</p><p>Awards are given out in various categories. This year’s award ceremony was held on 12th September 2023 at the Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey, USA. Nicki Minaj hosted the VMAs this year. BTS’s <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/jungkook-of-bts-reveals-favourite-indian-dish">Jungkook</a> won one award at this event.</p><h5>In which category did Jungkook win?</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/newsahoot.appspot.com/o/jungkook-wins-an-award-at-the-mtv-vm-as%2FJungkook%202.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=6fb185dc-eed1-485b-aaa3-f5103f7df046"><figcaption>Jungkook posing for a photo. Sixteen songs were nominated in this category, with Jungkook emerging as the winner.</p><p>Jungkook became the first male K-Pop soloist to win a VMA. Sadly, Jungkook was not present at the show to receive the award. All the BTS fans (also called ARMY) are very happy for him.</p><p>The song “Seven” has created two world records. The song became the most streamed music by a male artist on Spotify in one week.
