Every year, the Music Television (MTV) hosts the Video Music Awards (VMAs). It’s a super fun event where musicians win prizes for their songs!

The first MTV VMAs were held in 1984. This year’s ceremony was held on September 12th, 2024 (according to Indian time), at the UBS Arena in New York, USA.

Guess what? Lisa, from the super cool K-pop group BLACKPINK, just won the Best K-Pop award at the MTV VMAs for her awesome song “Rockstar”!

This isn’t her first time winning, though - she also took home the same award back in 2022 for her hit song “Lalisa.”

Other amazing singers were also up for the award, like Jung Kook with his song “Seven,” New Jeans with “Super Shy,” and Stray Kids with “LALALALA.” But Lisa shined the brightest and proved she’s one of the biggest stars in K-pop!

Lisa’s real name is Lalisa Manobal (or Manoban). She’s from Thailand and is famous for singing, rapping, and dancing with the awesome girl band BLACKPINK!

Lisa can speak four languages: Thai, English, Japanese, and Korean! As a kid, she loved K-pop music and dreamed of being a star. And guess what? She made her dream come true!

But that’s not all! Lisa is preparing to act on a TV show and has even started her own record label, LLOUD. Isn’t Lisa amazing?
