Lung cancer: A deadly threat!
Lung cancer is a big health problem where bad cells grow in the lungs, which can make people very sick. If it’s not found early, it can be really dangerous.
The leading cause of lung cancer is smoking, but even people who don’t smoke can get it. Things like secondhand smoke and dirty air can also be risky.
Sometimes, lung cancer doesn’t show up with obvious signs. It might start with a cough that won’t go away or make one feel tired. That’s why it’s super important to find it early. If doctors catch it early, treatments can help people stay healthy and feel better.
Vaccine trial begins.

Guess what? Doctors are testing a super cool new vaccine to help fight lung cancer! It is the first messenger RNA (mRNA) lung cancer vaccine. BioNTech created it, and it uses an mRNA technique similar to COVID-19 vaccines.
This special vaccine helps our body’s defence team, the immune system, learn how to spot and get rid of cancer cells so they can’t come back and make us sick.
Doctors are testing it in seven countries, like the USA and the UK. If it works, it could help save many lives and make a big difference!
How do mRNA vaccines work?
Imagine mRNA as a special helper that tells your cells what to do. Most vaccines use tiny pieces of weak or dead germs to teach your body to fight diseases.
But mRNA vaccines are different! They teach your cells to make a protein that looks like a bad germ.
This tricks your body into making special fighters called antibodies. These fighters protect you if the real germ shows up!
