<h5>Why were the MPs suspended?</h5><p>At the time of writing this, 143 opposition party Members of Parliament (MPs) have been suspended from the Parliament during the ongoing parliament session.</p><p>The MPs were suspended from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for causing disturbances and shouting slogans. They also can't give notices or vote on committee matters while they're suspended. But the government said the suspended MPs were to be blamed.</p><p>Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called for a nationwide protest on 22nd December 2023.
