About Formula 1.
Formula 1 (F1) is a super cool car race in which drivers race around a circuit in unique cars to see who’s the fastest. These cars look nothing like the ones we see on the roads. But you might have seen mini toy cars shaped like these!
Every year, F1 has exciting races called Grand Prix (GP) in different countries. The first GP was in Silverstone, England, in 1950.
This year, 24 races are being held! Ten teams, each with two drivers, race all year to see who’s the best!
McLaren Mercedes takes the lead.
Exciting news! McLaren Mercedes has overtaken Red Bull Racing Honda RBPT (also called Red Bull) to become the top team in the 2024 constructor standings.
Oscar Piastri, one of McLaren’s drivers, won the Azerbaijan GP, and his teammate, Lando Norris, finished fourth. Their points helped McLaren reach the top spot - something they haven’t done since 2014!
In Formula 1, the top 10 drivers earn points that add to their team’s score. McLaren fans cheer as the team heads to Singapore for the next race.
McLaren last won the constructors’ championship in 1998. Will they win again this year? Let’s wait and see!

In Formula 1, two shiny trophies are given at the end of the season: one for the drivers and one for the teams! Right now, McLaren is in the lead for the team trophy!
For the drivers, Max Verstappen from Red Bull is winning! He is closely followed by Lando Norris from McLaren and Charles Leclerc from Ferrari.
Last season, Verstappen won the driver trophy, and Red Bull took home the team trophy, too. Will they win it again this season? Let’s see!
