McLaren Mercedes wins big!
The 2024 Formula One (F1) season ended in an exciting way on 8th December 2024! McLaren Mercedes became the best team by winning the World Constructors’ Championship. Can you believe it has been 26 years since they last won? That was in 1998!
In the last race of the season, Lando Norris from McLaren came first, and his teammate Oscar Piastri finished 10th. Their great teamwork helped McLaren stay ahead of Ferrari.
Ferrari’s drivers, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, finished second and third in the race, but it wasn’t enough to beat McLaren.
Here are the top three teams this year:
McLaren Mercedes: 666 points
Ferrari: 652 points
Red Bull Racing: 589 points
Great season for McLaren Mercedes.
McLaren Mercedes had an amazing season, with six wins and many podium finishes. They scored a lot of points in each race, helping them win the championship. Fans are super happy and excited for next year!
The driver’s standings.
Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing won the Driver’s World Championship with 437 points. Lando Norris from McLaren came second with 374 points, and Charles Leclerc from Ferrari was third with 356 points.
Even though Max Verstappen did great, his teammate Sergio Perez had a tough season, finishing eighth with 152 points. This made it hard for Red Bull to win the constructors’ title.
