What happened in Nagpur?
Imagine waiting and waiting for something you really need, and it never seems to happen. That’s what happened in Nagpur! The city was waiting for a new underpass to open, but it didn’t. The underpass was ready, but the officials didn’t open it on time.
Because of the delay, there were big traffic jams in the area. People were stuck in long lines, getting more and more frustrated. Finally, the locals decided they had enough. They took down the barriers and started using the underpass, even though it wasn’t officially open yet!
The officials didn’t like this. They put the barriers back up and said they needed more time before the official opening. But the locals were upset. They had been waiting for ten months, and they were tired of going through longer routes.
Some people felt that since they pay taxes, they should be able to use the underpass when it’s ready, not wait for officials and politicians to decide when it’s time.
Citizens’ say on this.
Some people agree with the locals. They think it’s not fair to keep people waiting when the underpass is ready. They believe the people should be able to use it without waiting for special people, like politicians and VIPs, to take credit.
But other people say the locals were wrong. They believe it’s important to check if everything is safe before opening something like an underpass. Rushing could cause accidents.
What do you think? Should the people have waited, or was it okay to take action?
