About the Curiosity Rover!
Have you ever dreamed of visiting another planet? People have always imagined travelling to space, but we've only been to the Moon so far. One of our biggest dreams is to reach Mars!
NASA wants to send astronauts to Mars, but while we wait, robots are exploring. One cool robot on Mars is the Curiosity Rover.
Curiosity is like a giant space car with special tools inside. Its strong wheels help it drive over the rocky surface of Mars.
Curiosity was sent from Earth in 2011 and arrived on the red planet in 2012. Since then, it has been finding amazing things and helping us learn more about our space neighbour!
Curiosity makes an amazing discovery!
Guess what? The Curiosity rover on Mars just found something super cool! It accidentally cracked open a rock and saw shiny yellow sulphur crystals inside. This is the first time they have been seen on Mars!
Earlier, the robot had found rocks with sulphur mixed with other elements. But now, it found a rock with pure sulphur!
And guess what else? Curiosity also saw a bunch of bright rocks in the same area. Now, smart scientists are trying to determine where all this sulphur came from. Isn’t that exciting?
Importance of this discovery!
Did you know that sulphur is super important! It’s one of the special things that help make life on Earth.
So, finding sulphur on Mars is really exciting for scientists. They wonder if Mars could have ever had life, like little green Martians!
