The device was implanted into a patient named Alex, who has been discharged. He can now play video games and is learning software to create 3D designs.</p><p>Unlike the first patient, Noland Arbaugh, the second patient didn't face any complications. Arbaugh had faced the issue of “thread retraction”.</p><p>The device has tiny wires to help read brain activity. The wires retracted post-surgery for Arbaugh, reducing the electrodes that could measure brain signals. Thankfully, the threads have now stabilised for Arbaugh, and things are back to normal.</p><h5>Future of the Neuralink device.</h5><p>So far, this fantastic device has helped recipients play video games, post on social media, browse the internet, helped them learn various things, etc.</p><p>However, the company says it aims to add new improvements to its device in the future to help with faster text entry and provide the ability to control a computer better through the device.</p><p>This could help those who are unable to use their hands or who can't speak due to various disorders that hinder their ability to communicate with others. With time, the device will be improved to help others, too.</p>
