Photo by Sharad M Tanga Glb.</figcaption></figure>The Ministry of Railways plans to introduce a new system allowing pet owners to purchase pet tickets online through the IRCTC website or app. Train Ticket Examiners (TTEs) can also book tickets for the pets while on the train.Earlier, people with pets could only book AC First Class tickets on the day of travel. This would sometimes result in passengers not getting tickets. So, the Ministry of Railways has announced this online booking system to ensure that passengers and their pets can easily travel.What are the steps to travel with a pet?First, the passenger must purchase and print a ticket online. Second, the pet must be vaccinated, and the owner must have a vaccination certificate. A vet-signed fitness certificate is also required. The owner must get it within 24 to 48 hours of travel. The certificate should indicate the breed, colour, and gender of the pet.The passenger and their pet must arrive at the luggage office three hours before departure. This applies to everyone, whether they have bought the ticket online or at the counter. If a passenger carries a pet without proper documents, then they will be fined.Travelling with one's pet strengthens the bond with them. Our pets feel happy to spend more time with us. However, the trip must be properly planned to ensure that the pet is comfortable and safe throughout the journey.
