If we don’t take care of them, they can get sick!</p><p>In New Zealand, a lady fed her dog, Nuggi, too much food. Nuggi became so fat that the vet had trouble checking his heartbeat!</p><p>Nuggi was being fed lots of chicken and dog biscuits every day, which made him very obese and sick. He needed to rest and catch his breath, and his legs felt tired.</p><p>He stayed at an SPCA animal shelter for two months and started to feel better and lose weight! But sadly, Nuggi passed away, and everyone was very sad.</p><p>His former owner has been sentenced to two months in jail and fined. She is also not allowed to have any dogs for a while.</p><p>This incident reminds us how important it is to take good care of our pets so they can be happy and healthy!</p><h5>Responsibility for keeping a pet.</h5><p><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/having-pets--the-importance-of-companionship">Having a pet is a big job!</a> Like family, pets need lots of love and care.
