<h5>Boy conquers Mount Kilimanjaro.</h5><p>A five-year-old boy from Ropar, Punjab, Teghbir Singh, has set an amazing record by becoming the youngest Asian to scale Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.</p><p>Singh reached the mountain's highest point, the Uhuru Peak, at 5,895 meters, on 23rd August 2024. He began his ascent on 18th August 2024.</p><p>The journey was meticulously planned with the help of the kid’s father, Sukhinderdeep Singh, and coach Bikramjit Singh Ghuman. The coach trained him in cardiovascular and lung capacity exercises to prepare him to climb a mountain of such heights.</p><p>The kid also trained for around a year, going on weekly treks and following a strict diet to help him become physically ready to start his adventure. Photo by Raminder Pal Singh ਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ.</figcaption></figure><h5>Difficulty faced while climbing the mountain.</h5><p>Mount Kilimanjaro is a fairly difficult mountain to climb, and many who attempt it cannot reach the summit. Climbers can face various issues caused by the altitude, harsh trek conditions, sub-zero temperatures, and low oxygen levels.</p><p>Teghbir Singh and his team, which included his father, two guides, and two support staff, faced adverse weather conditions and snowstorms during the climb, causing them to retreat for the first time.</p><p>However, the kid and his team didn’t give up; they pushed forward the second time and reached the summit. Singh also had to stay in temporary tents during the climb, highlighting his dedication and hard work to reach his goal.</p><p>With this amazing feat, he equals the record of reaching the top of Mt Kilimanjaro at age five by a Serbian boy, Ognjen Živković. Also, Teghbir becomes the youngest Asian and Indian to do so.</p><p>He has also received a certificate commemorating his achievement from the Conservation Commissioner of Tanzania National Parks, including Kilimanjaro National Park.</p><h5>Teghbir Singh - an inspiration.</h5><p>The young adventurer is a first grader at the Shiwalik Public School in Ropar. He has already shown his adventurous spirit by completing the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp earlier this year.</p><p>His accomplishments demonstrate not only his dedication and courage but also the tremendous support of his family and mentor.</p><p>At such a young age, he has already achieved feats that many people can only dream of, setting an inspiration to children worldwide.</p>

The 5-year-old has become the youngest Asian to do so.
