FIFA’s latest announcement.
Great news for football fans! FIFA has announced the countries that will host the 2030 and 2034 World Cups (WCs).
The last WC was in Qatar. Fans from all over the world watched exciting matches. Argentina won the trophy by beating France in the final.
The next World Cup is in 2026 in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. For 2030, Morocco, Spain, and Portugal will host most matches.
In 2034, Saudi Arabia will host the World Cup. But there could be problems with this.
Human rights groups raise concerns.
Not everyone is happy about Saudi Arabia hosting the World Cup. Some groups are worried about workers not being treated well when building stadiums. They are also concerned about women’s rights, press freedom, and how LGBTQ people are treated.
Some people think Saudi Arabia is hosting the WC to look better in front of the world. These groups want FIFA to choose a different country.
Saudi Arabia’s plan.
Saudi Arabia hasn’t answered these worries. Instead, they say they will spend a lot of money to make the 2034 WC amazing for fans.
