<h5>Start-up announces plans to sell sunlight!</h5><p>There are many things sold in the market, from chocolates to soaps, but a start-up selling sunlight? That’s a first.</p><p>Reflect Orbital, a start-up based in California, USA, has unveiled plans to revolutionise the global energy landscape by delivering sunlight after sunset.</p><p>The company plans to redirect sunlight onto solar panels on Earth's surface at night. This means they will be "selling sunlight" as per demand to those in need.</p><h5>Why does the company plan to sell sunlight?</h5><p>Ben Nowack, the company’s CEO, said that solar power is an unstoppable force. This form of renewable energy can help satisfy humanity's energy needs.</p><p>Solar panels play an important role in generating solar power. While this form of energy has huge potential, there is one problem- as the sun sets, solar panels are left in the dark and don’t receive sunlight. Thus, solar farms are unable to generate energy at night.</p><p>So, Nowack’s company plans to bridge this gap by “selling sunlight.”</p><h5>How do they plan to make it possible?</h5><p>The company plans to launch 57 small satellites into orbit. Each satellite would be equipped with 33-square-foot ultra-reflective mylar mirrors. They will help reflect sunlight back to solar farms on Earth.</p><p>This innovative approach will boost solar energy production even when the sun isn't shining directly on the solar panels in the solar farms. The mirror was supposed to reflect sunlight over the solar panels brought by the company.</p><p>The team spent weeks testing the process and eventually had a breakthrough. They were able to generate energy when the mirror reflected sunlight on the solar panels from nearly 800 feet away.</p><p>Reflect Orbital’s mylar mirror is set to launch in 2025, and organisations can apply to the company to “buy sunlight.”</p>

The company plans to use mirrors and satellites to redirect sunlight back to Earth.
