<h5>India storms into the finals!</h5><p>India defeated England, the defending champion, in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup (WC).</p><p>The match started late due to rainfall, and play was interrupted several times due to the bad weather. However, this didn't dampen India’s brilliant form, which we have witnessed throughout the tournament.</p><p>Jos Buttler, England’s captain, put India to bat after having won the toss. India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, led the way with a brilliant batting display and scored 57 runs. At the end of the first innings, India scored 171 runs.</p><p>Next, it was the chance for India’s bowlers to show their strength, and they didn't disappoint. As we enter the final showdown, only two teams remain - India and South Africa.</p><p>The final match is scheduled for today, 29th June 2024, and we will see India and South Africa battling it out to lift the prestigious trophy.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/newsahoot.appspot.com/India_3_647b48ae9a.png" alt="India 3.png"><figcaption>India vs South Africa. They also topped the Super Eight - Group 1 to book their place in the semi-finals.</p><p>The players performed brilliantly across the tournament and looked like a dominating team that could defeat anyone. So, fans hope that the Indian players can maintain their form in the final and win the trophy, ending their <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/t20-world-cup-india-reaches-the-semi-finals">ICC trophy drought</a>.</p><p>But South Africa won’t be an easy opponent to defeat. They also topped their respective groups in the league stage and Super 8 round and dominated Afghanistan in the first semi-final to reach the final.</p><p>So, let's hope India performs brilliantly against South Africa and wins the trophy. Their hard work and skill can bring glory to the nation and make us all feel proud as world champions.</p><p><strong>Update: </strong>India has won the T20 World Cup. Sadly, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja have announced that they will no longer play international T20 cricket.</p>
