Meet Moo Deng, the cutest pygmy hippo in Thailand! She’s only two months old and lives at Khao Kheow Open Zoo. Moo Deng is famous because she’s adorable!
Everyone loves watching her funny videos and pictures online. People come to the zoo just to see her. There are even fan art, memes, and cool merchandise inspired by Moo Deng! Isn’t Moo Deng amazing?
Fame brings unwanted challenges.
Moo Deng is having some problems. Some people at the zoo were mean to her. One person poured water on her while she was sleeping, and another threw a shellfish at her. Some even threw food to get her attention.
The zoo’s director is very upset and says anyone hurting Moo Deng could get in trouble. To keep her safe, the zoo is allowing people to see her on weekends and has added extra security, like cameras, to watch over her.
The visitors must be kind to Moo Deng and enjoy her cuteness responsibly!
About pygmy hippos.
Pygmy hippos are tiny cousins of big hippos. Only about 2,000 are left in the wild, mostly in African countries like Liberia and Guinea.
These small hippos are half the size of regular ones and weigh much less. They are nocturnal and reclusive by nature.
They love to hang out in swamps and rivers to keep cool and wet. They eat grass, leaves, and fruits that fall on the ground.
