<h5>Life-saving surgery was performed!</h5><p>Just like doctors help people when they are sick, there are special doctors for animals called veterinarians (vets). They take care of pets like dogs and cats and even wild animals like tigers and elephants!</p><p>Recently, three amazing vets helped a tigress named Chippi at the Itanagar Biological Park in Arunachal Pradesh. Chippi had two big tumorous lumps on her neck that needed to be removed.</p><p>The vets all came from separate organisations and worked together like superheroes to help Chippi. Even though they didn’t have all the fancy tools, they made it work.</p><p>The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, praised the vets for their hard work. This surgery was a big win for taking care of wild animals!</p><h5>About Chippi!</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/newsahoot.appspot.com/operation_44c1d9b3a4.jpg" alt="operation.jpg"><figcaption>Photo taken during the surgery. Photo by Wildlife Trust of India.</figcaption></figure><p>Chippi is a 13-year-old tigress who was rescued in 2012 from a place in Arunachal Pradesh. In 2013, she was sent to the Itanagar Zoo to get better with the help of some amazing people from the Wildlife Trust of India.</p><p>In February 2024, two small lumps were noticed on the back of her neck. The vets tried to treat them, but the lumps kept growing bigger and bigger!</p><p>Chippi's friends, the vets, knew just what to do. They decided to help her with surgery.&nbsp;<br>The surgery was a big success, and Chippi’s life was saved! She can now happily roam around, feeling healthy and strong.</p><h5>Importance of saving wild animals!</h5><p>Our planet, Earth, is home to humans, animals, birds, and insects. We need to take care of them! Wild animals are important because they help keep nature healthy. For instance, wolves hunt deer so that there are not too many deer eating all the plants.</p><p>Wild animals also help local businesses. People love to visit parks and places where these animals live. This helps the local stores because visitors buy things there.</p>

The tigress named Chippi can now live her life happily after vets performed surgery on her.
