Bullion trader duped.
In an incident that sounds like a movie, some con men tricked a bullion trader named Mehul Thakkar. They gave him fake money in exchange for gold with the face of actor Anupam Kher instead of Mahatma Gandhi!
This happened in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The fake notes even said “Resole Bank of India” instead of “Reserve Bank of India.” These tricksters wanted to buy 2.1 kg of gold for a whopping ₹1.6 crores!
They first gave Thakkar ₹1.3 crores in cash and promised to pay the rest later. But guess what? After taking the gold, they vanished! Later, Thakkar complained to the police when he found the fake notes.
Now, the police are trying to find the bad guys, but they are hiding. Can you believe how tricky they were? Always be careful and check your money!

How can you spot fake notes?
Have you ever gotten money from someone you don’t know, like at a store? It’s super important to check if it’s real! Here’s how:
Look for Gandhiji: Make sure his picture is on the note. If you see someone else, it’s fake!
Feel the paper: Real money is made from special paper. If it’s too thick, it might be fake.
Check the print: Real notes have clear printing. If you see smudges, it’s fake!
Find the line: Real notes have a line of squares in the middle called a security thread. If it looks drawn or printed on, it’s fake!
Read the words: Real notes say “Reserve Bank of India.” If it’s smudged or missing, it’s fake!
If you find a fake note, tell your parents right away! Stay smart and safe!
