Why being active is important?
Being active is good for you! It makes you happy, helps you sleep better, and keeps you strong. For kids, it even helps your brain work faster. When you grow up, staying active keeps your mind sharp and helps you make good choices.
Moving your body can also help you feel less worried. It keeps you at a healthy weight. But if you don’t move enough, you might gain too much weight, which can make you sick.
You can stay active by playing games with friends, dancing to your favourite songs, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
A study finds something shocking!
Did you know? Many kids around the world are not active enough! Why?
Too much screen time: Some kids spend too much time on phones, TV, or video games.
No parks to play: In some places, like India or Bangladesh, kids don’t have parks nearby.
Safety worries: In places like Brazil, parents worry about traffic or crime, so kids stay inside.
Many kids sit for 8 to 10 hours every day. This can cause problems like weight gain, sadness, and even diabetes.
What needs to be done?
Here’s how we can fix this:
Parents and teachers can set limits for screen time and let kids play outside.
Cities can build more parks and playgrounds for kids to have fun.
You can take breaks from your phone or TV. Dance, play a sport, or even help with chores at home—it all counts as exercise! Being active is not just healthy—it’s fun! So, get up, move around, and enjoy a happy, healthy life!
