Where was this record created?
On 25th December 2023, 1282 tabla players performed Vande Mataram on tabla during the Taal Darbar program at the 99th International [[Tansen::He was a legendary Hindustani classical music artist and one of the nine jewels in the court of the Mughal emperor Akbar.]] Mahotsav (also known as Tansen Samaroh) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh (MP). By doing so, they set a Guinness World Record for the largest tabla [[ensemble::A group of musicians, dancers, or actors that perform together.]].
The achievement came around a month after Gwalior became the Creative City of Music in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in November 2023. The certificate for this record was given to MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. He also declared the day as a special day.

Tansen Samaroh is a special event dedicated to the Indian musical legend Tansen. Many great artists from India and worldwide come to this musical gathering. This year’s event is being held from 22nd to 28th December 2023.
Every December, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, this event is organised by the Ustad Alauddin Khan Kala Evam Sangeet Academy and the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Taal Darbar is a part of Tansen Samaroh, featuring tabla players of various ages. Participants include both experienced tabla players and young, emerging talents.
