Zomato’s new feature!

Zomato, the popular app for ordering food, has a fun new feature called Food Rescue! It helps stop food from being wasted. Now, if someone cancels their order, you can buy that food for less money. Cool, right?

Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, says that cancelling orders waste a lot of food. That’s not good! To help, Zomato has strict rules, like no refunds if someone cancels. But people still cancel sometimes, so Zomato created this new idea to save food.

How will this feature work?

If an order is cancelled, it will show up on the Zomato app for people nearby (within 3 kilometres). The food is still fresh and safe, and you can buy it at a lower price! But you have to act fast—the deal only lasts a few minutes!

Some foods, like ice cream or milkshakes, are not included in Food Rescue because they might melt or spoil.

The money you pay for the food goes to the restaurant and the original customer (if they paid online). Zomato only takes the tax. The delivery driver also gets paid for the whole trip, from the first customer to the new one!

We shouldn’t waste food.

Did you know many people in the world don’t have enough food? That’s why it’s important to save food and not waste it. Here are some easy tips to help:

Take only as much food as you can eat. If you’re still hungry, you can always get more!

If you can’t finish your meal, put it in the fridge and eat it later.

Share extra food with friends or family instead of throwing it away.

If you have a lot of leftover food after a party, you can call NGOs. They help give food to people who need it.

By following these simple steps, you can help stop food waste and make the world a better place!
