Anmol Malhotra of Newsahoot and Shivansh Ahuja of City One Initiative recently met to discuss holistic education.
While AI and STEM education take centre stage, two entrepreneurs are focusing on essential human skills. Anmol Malhotra, Founder of Newsahoot, and Shivansh Ahuja, Founder of City One Initiative, are empowering children with critical thinking, confidence, and communication skills.
Recently, Anmol and Shivansh met to discuss their shared vision for holistic education. Their conversation highlighted the importance of equipping students with real-world skills beyond traditional academics.
Anmol Malhotra launched Newsahoot to make news accessible and engaging for young readers. The platform publishes child-friendly news in three reading levels for grades 3 to 9, with word meanings, interactive contests, and activity sheets to boost comprehension and vocabulary.
"Age-appropriate news helps children improve their English and understand the world better," says Anmol. By tailoring content to different levels, Newsahoot fosters curiosity and confidence.
Shivansh Ahuja's City One Initiative focuses on public speaking and leadership. Through national programs like Model United Nations (MUN) training, Bal Panchayats (Children’s Councils), and Upskilling Camps, City One equips students to express themselves and lead with empathy.
"We aim to create a generation of confident communicators and empathetic leaders," says Shivansh. The initiative encourages students to engage with civic issues and develop leadership skills.
Both initiatives believe education should go beyond textbooks. By fostering critical thinking, media literacy, and leadership, Newsahoot and City One Initiative prepare students to thrive in a complex world.
As they continue partnering with schools across India, these organizations are shaping a future where foundational human skills matter as much as technological advancements.
