A Sad Day for India
On April 22, 2025, a tragedy happened in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists attacked a group of tourists who were visiting the town.
Most of the victims were Hindus, as the attackers asked about their religion before opening fire. A local Muslim man also died while trying to save others.
What Witnesses Saw
People who saw the attack said the attackers wore soldier-like clothes. They asked tourists about their religion and shot those who said they were Hindu.
A Nepali citizen also lost his life in the attack, showing that anyone can be harmed, no matter where they are from.
A Long History Behind the Unrest
Kashmir has been a site of [[conflict::A serious disagreement or fight between people or countries]] for decades, and both India and Pakistan desire control over it. Some groups express their anger using violence.
In 2019, India removed Kashmir’s special status, which made things worse. Some groups used this change to plan attacks like this one.
Response from Our Nation
After the attack, the Indian government took strong actions:
India sent Pakistani [[diplomats::People sent by one country to represent it in another country]] back and reduced the number of Indian staff in Pakistan.
The Indian government stopped the Indus Water Treaty, an old water-sharing agreement.
Visas for Pakistani nationals were cancelled.
The mainland border between India and Pakistan was closed.
India has not taken military action yet, but it will not hesitate if violence continues.
Hope for Peace and Justice
This attack was heartbreaking. Innocent lives were lost while they were enjoying their holiday. But even in dark times, we must not lose hope. India is working hard to end violence and bring justice to the victims.
We must stay strong, brave, and united. People worldwide are demanding peace between India and Pakistan. With courage, kindness, and truth, we can build a safer world for all. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!
