A. Introduction

Newsahoot Media Private Limited ("Company", "We", "Our", "Us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you visit our website, use our mobile applications, or enroll in our educational programs.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), We are the Data Fiduciary.

B. Data We Collect

We collect only the personal data that is necessary to provide our educational services. This includes:

  • Student Data (Minors): Name, age, and school name.

  • Parent/Guardian Data: Email address, phone number (for WhatsApp updates), and payment information.

  • Technical Data: IP address, device type, and interaction logs with our website and comment system.

C. Verifiable Parental Consent

  • Requirement: As our services are designed for children (Data Principals under the age of 18), we strictly require Verifiable Parental Consent before processing any personal data of a minor.

  • Mechanism: By registering your child for our classes or allowing them to use our comment system, you must undergo a verification process (e.g., email confirmation or OTP verification) to confirm you are the rigorous legal guardian.

  • Withdrawal: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Upon withdrawal, we will cease processing your child's data and delete it, subject to any legal retention requirements.

D. Purpose of Data Processing

We process personal data for the following specific purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To conduct live classes, send presentation decks, and provide revision worksheets.

  • Communication: To send class schedules, updates, and administrative notices via WhatsApp and email.

  • Educational Assessment: To track student progress and tailor our curriculum (e.g., adjusting complexity for ages 8-10 vs. 11-13).

  • Safety & Moderation: To monitor the comment system and ensure a safe, bullying-free environment for all students.

E. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors (e.g., Zoom for classes, Hyvor for comments, payment gateways) strictly for the purpose of enabling our services.

  • School Partners: If you are accessing our services through a school partnership, we may share attendance or progress data with your school as per our Memorandum of Understanding.

  • Legal Compliance: If required by law, court order, or government authority.

F. Your Rights (as a Data Principal)

Under the DPDP Act, you (and your child, through you) have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: You may request a summary of the personal data we hold about you or your child.

  • Right to Correction: You may request updates to inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

  • Right to Erasure: You may request the deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

  • Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to register a complaint regarding our data handling practices.

G. Data Security & Retention

  • Security: We implement reasonable security safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

  • Retention: We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. Once the purpose is met (e.g., a student requests deletion of data once the program ends), data is securely deleted.

H. Children’s Privacy & Comments

  • Restricted Access: Our comment system is designed for educational discussion. We strictly prohibit the sharing of personal contact information (like phone numbers or home addresses) in the comments.

  • Moderation: We employ both automated tools and human moderation to review comments. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our safety standards.
