The protests in Iran were noticed around the world. The United States asked Iran’s leaders to respect peaceful protests and avoid violence. President Donald Trump said that if peaceful protesters were violently suppressed, the United States would intervene to help them.
Many European countries and human rights groups also spoke against the crackdown and supported people’s right to protest peacefully.
Iranian officials rejected foreign involvement and said that outside forces were responsible for the unrest.
