Hope returns to Gaza
A new plan called Trump’s Peace Plan for Gaza has started to bring peace between Israel and Hamas, two sides that have been fighting for nearly two years.
The plan includes stopping the war, freeing people held as [[hostages::People who are captured and held by someone, often to force others to meet certain demands or conditions.]], and rebuilding the damaged areas of Gaza.
The plan behind the peace
The plan is named after Donald Trump, the President of the United States, because he and his team helped create and announce it. Trump brought many countries together to agree on steps that could lead to peace.
In simple words, this plan is like a peace [[roadmap::A detailed plan or guide that shows how to reach a goal or complete a process step by step.]]. It shows what both sides should do step by step. It talks about stopping the fighting, helping [[civilians::People who are not part of the military, police, or any armed group.]], and making Gaza safe again.
Why was this plan needed?
The Israel–Hamas war began in October 2023, after a deadly attack from Gaza. In response, Israel launched a big military operation. Since then, thousands of people have died, and many homes, schools, and hospitals have been destroyed.
Gaza’s people have faced hunger, lack of electricity, and unsafe living conditions.
Because of this huge suffering, countries around the world wanted a strong plan to end the war and start rebuilding lives. That’s how this peace plan came into the picture.
Three stages towards peace
The plan is divided into three main phases that are meant to happen one after another.
In the first phase, there will be a ceasefire, which means both sides agree to stop fighting, and an exchange of hostages and prisoners so families can finally reunite.
The second phase focuses on security and [[stabilization::The process of making something steady, secure, or less likely to change suddenly.]]: armed groups are expected to give up their weapons, while an international peace team will help maintain order and safety in Gaza.
In the final phase, the plan talks about rebuilding Gaza with the help of money and [[aid::Help or support given to people in need, especially during emergencies like wars or natural disasters.]] from other countries, and starting new peace talks to decide Gaza’s political future.
Each phase needs a lot of trust and teamwork, which is difficult but very important if peace is to last.
A hopeful future
If this plan works, people in Gaza could finally live safely, children could go to school again, and families could return home.
The world is watching closely. If peace holds, it could become a model for ending wars in other parts of the world, too.
Quick revision
Trump’s Peace Plan for Gaza is a new international plan made to stop the Israel–Hamas war and rebuild Gaza after two years of war.
The plan works in three phases: ceasefire and releasing the hostages, disarming armed groups, and rebuilding Gaza with global aid.
If this plan works, people in Gaza can live safely again, and it could become a model for ending wars in other parts of the world.
