Saaveri Donikena, a Class 5 student at The Class Of One, pens an intriguing tale of mystery and discovery titled 'Aisha the Detective'
As she went to bed, her father suddenly and firmly held the 4-year-old‘s hand and said, “Shut your mouth and be quiet!” The 4-year-old was shaken by fear due to her father’s deep and angry voice. She never liked him and never dared to speak to him.
Her mother went to the hospital three years ago and never returned, leaving little Aisha all alone. Now, Mr. Kapoor was a happy, kind man. He never left Aisha and Mrs. Kapoor. Mrs Kapoor went to the hospital after a fight with Mr Kapoor and never returned.
Fourteen years passed, and Aisha is now a strong, independent girl. Though only 18 years old, Aisha is now a woman entrepreneur, a fashion designer, a singer, and a detective related to SHE Teams.
She felt that whatever happened, her mother was there with her, holding her hand. She knew that her mother would be here someday, standing before her. She was lost in her thoughts until her friend, Navya, who was her teammate, interrupted her.
Navya said, “Hey! Aisha! Are you here? Guess what? We have a new crime to solve! Oh! I am so excited! And the crime is in Kothapalli!”
Aisha was confused and shocked. “Kothapalli?!” she said loudly.
Navya was confused. “Why did you shout like that? We’ve been there on a mission! It’s not like it’s a new place! If you are afraid of the crowds, don’t worry! We are going on a dual mission!”
Aisha’s face softened, and she said, “Oh, okay.” Navya, on the other hand, was worried.
She asked, “Hey! Why did you shout when I said Kothapalli?”
Aisha said, “Nothing. Something struck my mind.”
Navya said, “Oh, okay. Anyway, our journey starts tomorrow. Get yourself and your things ready. We must be at the railway station at 5:20 AM. We have only a day to prepare. We must sleep at 8:00 today. Be prepared.”
Navya was very strict when it came to schedules. They both finished the rest of their day and slept at 8:00.
But in Aisha’s dream, came her mother. She smiled softly and said,
“Dear Aisha, I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you when you needed me the most. From now on, I shall be there for you when you need me. Don’t think that I’m a dream. To prove this, I cannot come in front of you, but when you wake up, you will see a jade pendant in your suitcase. The pendant will keep you safe. The jade pendant is mine. You will also see a small key attached to the pendant. Keep the key safe, and on the key is an address. Follow it, and you will see me, my dear. But you can only and only tell your friend Navya about this. See you soon, and may you be successful in finding me, my dearest!”
After hearing this, Aisha jumped out of bed and suddenly went through her suitcase. She threw her clothes everywhere, and one suddenly hit Navya.
Navya woke up and saw Aisha going through her clothes.
Navya said, “Aisha! What are you doing here? It is only 3:00 now!”
Aisha said, “Navya, you may not understand this, but…”
And she explained everything to Navya.
Navya stood there, unable to believe this. She tried to brush it off, saying, “Come on! You don’t have any proof saying your mother was in your dream, and everything the woman said was true! You must’ve kept thinking about it all night!”
But Aisha believed that it was true and showed Navya the pendant and the key.
Navya was shocked! She said, “This… belongs to… The goddesses… from the upper worlds! What color is the pendant?”
Aisha said, “Green! You don’t think that my mother is a goddess from the upper worlds, do you?”
Navya said, “There might be chances! I heard from my dad that if I ever see a green pendant, we must immediately perform a special ritual to protect it from evil spirits."
Navya continued, "You see, in the 1st century, the mother of gods, Devi Aditi, was sleeping. She suddenly woke up and looked to see Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi in tears. Devi Aditi stood up from her golden bed and asked Ma Lakshmi to tell her what happened. She wouldn’t talk, so Lord Vishnu said, ‘Devi, the jade pendant you handed over to Lakshmi was stolen by the evil ones. It was a heirloom, so it was easy for them to steal it. We didn’t know what to do, so we came to you. Can you help us?’
Devi Aditi said, ‘I can’t help you, but the only way is war. Assemble Lord Indra now! I need to speak to him!’
Lord Vishnu called him, and Ma Aditi asked to let her borrow his vajra and his army of 1 crore soldiers. She asked everyone to do the same, and they did.
Together, they fought the terrible Asuras and killed them. The light of victory shone on the devas, and they recovered Ma Lakshmi’s pendant.
Ma Aditi said, ‘Lakshmi, my daughter, you must pass this pendant to your next generation. Your kids and grandkids must do the same.’
Ma Lakshmi agreed. Then, she told Lord Brahma to create a rule that a ritual must be done to protect the pendant every time someone discovers it."
"So now, you must do this ritual!” Navya insisted.
Navya and Aisha did the ritual. They followed the address and reached Aisha’s mother, whose name was Prakruti.
Aisha took her mother back to Mr. Kapoor, who came back to his normal self after seeing his wife.
What about the crime, you ask?
It turns out that Aisha’s birthday was near, and Mr. Kapoor, who realized his mistake, reached out to her team and explained the situation between Aisha and him. The team agreed, and that’s how it all happened.
After reuniting with her mother, Aisha slept peacefully that night.
When she woke up, she saw that her hair was decorated with choodamanis (a hair ornament), and she was wearing a jade pendant.
